What is your birthday? - March 13
What was your first amateur role? - Luchia from Mermaid Melody
What is your favorite food? - Italian. I could eat pasta all day~ yum.
How did you get into fan-dubbing/voice acting? - I first got into fan dubbing/voice acting when I opened my first youtube account, Firemage449, in 2006. I wasn't into acting or voice acting at all, but rather, into fandubing anime songs, that is, taking the Japanese translation and making english lyrics to anime songs and singing to them. I fell in love with the anime Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny and started to make my own versions to that anime's songs. That's when I realized both my singing voice and speaking voice sounded similar to one of the main character's, Lacus Cline, who sings most of the songs in the anime. I started to record speaking lines and place them in the instrumental breaks of the songs, and people often commented saying that I "sounded just like her" and "should become a voice actor". I didn't know what that was until someone asked me to voice her in a fandub of that anime. It's all spiraled from that point and now I have tons of ranges and tones but I can still go back and sound like that first character I voice acted.
Do you have any pointers? - Pointers? Practice. Tons of practice. For voice acting, join voiceactingalliance.com (VAA) and start auditing for roles and post a demo reel. Everyone there is no nice and positive and I've gotten the best critiques from other actors there. That community has definitely helped me and continues to do so.
What are some of your favorite roles? - I love this question. Characters that I love to voice act are nothing like me. I love female characters, generally in the Medium/High range, that scream, cry and complain at the top of their lungs. Currently those gals for me are Amu (Shugo Chara), Taiga (Toradora), Lizzy (Kuroshitsuji) and Ayame (Asu no Yoichi).
Who are some voice actors you look up to/ would like to work alongside with? -My voice-acting hero is Vic Mignogna. I loved his work long before I ever dreamed of being a voice actor myself. It would be an honor to be in a production with him. But I'd also love to work professional with some fellow actors I know and have worked with in the past on amateur dubs: for example, Cristina Vee and Lucas Schuneman. I would love to see any of the actors that I have worked with as an amature become professional voice actors with me. That would be so much fun and would definitely be in inspiration for other amatures because I know when I see someone who is an amature like me become a professional voice actor, it makes me feel so much closer to my own dream. To be on the other side of that inspirational void (being the one who inspires) would be, geez, I have no words to describe what that would be like.
What is/are your favorite anime? -My favorite animes, of all times, are Bleach, Gundam Seed/ Gundam Seed Destiny, Code Geass, D.N.Angel, Kaleido Star, Inuyasha, Fruits Basket, D.Gray Man and Kuroshitsuji, but I love hundreds of titles and I'm finding new titles every day that I love, I just haven't had the time to watch any yet.
